As residents of Northern Ohio we see all sorts of weather extremes.  Not only can inclement weather affect our moods, it can also be detrimental to your home.  Sudden warm ups that cause snow melts, wild thunderstorms with torrential downpours, or days on end without relief from steady rains can be sources of excessive flooding, which could easily result in unwanted water running through your basement, threatening the foundation of your home, your valuables, your health, or your peace of mind.

Dry Squad Waterproofing - with 30 years of combined experience - brings waterproofing solutions for your leaking and flooding basements.  Dry Squad serves the region extensively, covering locations throughout Greater Cleveland, as well as Akron-Canton, and the surrounding areas.  In addition to securing homes and providing peace of mind to homeowners, Dry Squad’s prices are competitive – sometimes as much as 40 to 50% less than  national franchises -insuring that even in these shaky economic times homeowners can secure their homes and property without breaking the bank.

Many things can go wrong in the basement, including sump pump failure, but Dry Squad stands behind its work “as the best choice in Akron, Canton, & Cleveland Ohio for your Waterproofing and foundation repair needs.”  Water, unfortunately, is not the only force of nature that can cause damage to your basement and ultimately to the rest of your home.  Shifting soil, expanding and contracting concrete, or a settling house can cause unsightly cracks - which can spread, causing serious damage to walls – significantly threatening the foundation and structural integrity of your home.  Whether you need only minimal foundation repair or a more serious rebuild, Dry Squad provides a range of solutions for concerned homeowners.   To protect the value of your home, Dry Squad even provides a warranty for the life of the home, which is transferrable to multiple owners of the property.

Dry Squad Waterproofing can transform a dank, wet basement with cracked walls into a dry, secured and comfortable space, ideal for a family room, home office, extra bedroom, or for that additional storage.  With a watertight and structurally sound basement, you can rest-assured your family will be safe and won’t be exposed to harmful molds, and that your treasured possessions will remain as secure as when you stored them.  You can enjoy your home and your life worry free, knowing that your property is dry and protected.  With Dry Squad Waterproofing you are not just fixing problems on your property, you are investing in the future of your home and your family.

Dry Squad will provide you with a free consultation.  For more information or a free consultation, call:  Akron: 330-697-20411; Canton: 330-413-8373; and Cleveland: 440-539-8718.  Online go to Cleveland Basement Waterproofing.

Meet Joey and Jesse: The Tree Advocates at OhioTree.com PDF Print E-mail

One guy.  One borrowed chainsaw.  And one rented truck.

That’s all it took for Joey Schossler to start his tree removal service four years ago.

Today, this thriving business, now simply known as OhioTree.com, is not just about clearing trees.  Schossler and his partner Jesse Muhlhan are environmentally friendly tree removal specialists, thanks to Schossler’s toddler son, Brady.

When Brady was two, Schossler took him for a ride around on his bulldozer pushing trees over.  Brady simply told his dad that it wasn’t right to cut down so many trees.  This innocent comment altered Schossler’s way of thinking, so from that day forward, he pledged to plant a tree for every one that he removed.

OhioTree.com believes in trying to save trees as well.  They would rather transplant or relocate a tree, than simply cut it down.

Call TNT Exterminators and say Good Riddance to Pests PDF Print E-mail

Pests. What a nuisance.  They can really ruin a beautiful day - and a fly swat and bug spray can only do so much.

Fleas and ticks, spiders and pantry pests, roaches, rats, and mice - all of these creepy, crawly critters require a little more than at-home remedies.

Since 1936, the TNT Exterminating Company has been serving Northeast Ohio and helping the locals enjoy pest-free living throughout all seasons.

For residential customers, TNT's Diamond Protection Program provides year round protection from pests that are more common in Northeastern Ohio such as carpenter ants, bees, wasps, millipedes, rats, mice, and more. See their website TNT Exterminating for a $20 coupon.

Their four-step program made up of the four key principles “Inspect. Eliminate. Prevent. Monitor,” can help keep your home pest-free year round.

TNT’s Pest Prevention Program for the Food Service and Hospitality Industry is a customized, environmental management program that uses the same four core principles.  TNT emphasizes that this is not only a pest-elimination program, but also a PREVENTION program.

TNT offers trained, professional, Company Certified Service Technicians with state & local food management certifications plus 24 hour a day response in hours, not days, with service scheduled at your convenience including nights and weekends.

Bioremediation is the science of using living organisms, or microbes, to convert waste material into natural matter and TNT can do it for you. Finally, this remarkable technology is available to the food service industry and provides a completely natural means of drain line cleaning.  Grease and organic buildup in drain lines result from ordinary cooking and cleaning.  This buildup can reduce flow capacity as well as give rise to some foul odors.

TNT Exterminating uses BioStim Microbial Products that are designed to eat fats, oils, grease and organic matter.  These living organisms will actually line the inside walls of the drain lines and consume the years of grease and organic accumulation.

So if you see a bug problem starting, just call 1-866-535-6411, and TNT will get on it within hours.

10 ways to keep bugs away - yourself!

Mike Grace, owner of TNT Exterminating Company and president of the Ohio Pest Control Association, has been in the pest control industry for 23 years.  With all that experience, Grace preaches, “A good offense is a good defense,” to all his customers.

Indoors
1.  Before bringing plants, grocery bags, cardboard, paper bags, or soft drink items into your home ,inspect for bugs that may be hiding.
2.  Store firewood away from the foundation of the home. Also keep it off the ground. Shake off the logs bringing them into the house.
3.  Keep floors clean by eliminating food sources for those pesky night time feeders.

Outdoors
4.  Inspect the house for possible entry points. Caulk or screen areas to seal openings
around your doors, windows, pipes and A/C lines.
5.  Trim tree limbs so they don't touch the house. Trim the shrubs so they don't become a harborage for insects or rodents.
6.  Protect your patio and porch from ant invasions by placing powdered chalk or used coffee grounds around the foundation.
7.  Keep garbage lids on the can.
8. Inspect the outside of the house each month from July to frost. Yellow jackets will appear overnight. Get them before they eat through the dry wall.

In the woods
9.  Citrus peels can help.  Mosquitoes and gnats hate the smell of oranges, lemons, and limes, so try taking a bag of citrus peels along with you on your summer outing. Rub the peels over any exposed skin to keep the bugs away.
10.  Make your own repellant with vanilla extract.  Take a clean, empty spray bottle and fill it with one cup of water and one tablespoon of vanilla extra. Spray and wipe onto your skin and you won't be bothered by some types of bugs.
